Leslie and Emily Jan blocks are now finished! Now all I need to start working on is the 2 small "sister" blocks that go with the larger ones! we are half way finished with this block of the month the last one will be picked up Sept 10 the date we are to be in Turkey! the shop Bella Quilts has told me that I should be able to pick up the last one before we leave!

Today I finished last months blocks, this Sat. I will pick up April's blocks. and maybe I might finish Jan. blocks they are cut out just need to finish them. while I was out finishing Emily's up I started to clean up and toss things in my sewing area! got rid of 3 bags of small scraps of fabric, soda cans, have 2 bags of fabric to donate found 2 quilt tops with backings that should go get quilted, one has been done for over 10+ years! the other has only been done about 3 years. I have 4 shelves left to go the sewing table plus 2 totes full of fabric. you don't realize how much stuff you have tell you get ready to move! I know we still have a few months tell we move or not move still not sure I hope that we find out soon I hate not knowing whats going on . Sept will be here before I know it. at least the past ports for the girls and myself have been sent in!

So Brad sent me a text the other day telling me that the Orders to Turkey were Canceled. we are all sad about it. I think the girls are happy about not going, missing there friends!
well with 2 years tell retirement I guess this will give me more time to plan out where we are going to move to and find a house and all that fun stuff. we have been thinking of Utah, Vegas, or to stay in AZ... what to do. I would like to leave this State,

Turkey or no Turkey?

Last week I believe Brad called me and told me that we have Orders to Turkey! Yes the Country of Turkey! not the Bird that we eat on Thanksgiving or Christmas! We would not be leaving until next Sept. 2011 so passports for the whole family, going thou all the boxes in the garage and tossing out a lot of stuff that we do not need is in store for me !

What is cool about this move is we are going to the base that Brad was born at!
but then there is all ways the possibility that something might happen and we do not end up going. so keep your fingers crossed that things work out and we do end up going to Turkey!

Two year's over there would be great! we would be able to see the sights and Emily is old enough to remember seeing them and she would be starting Kindergarten at a DoD School and from what I have heard they are better then the state side schools!. the only done side would be Leslie and getting her to her Mother during the summers and every other Christmas. and cents the first Christmas we would be over there would be our Christmas to to have her it would not be too much of a problem . well when I hear more I will let you all know more! less then 9 months to go before we move!

READERS BEWARE BAD SPELLING TODAY TYPING WITH ONE HAND!

so today while quilting my finger got in the way! the needle broke ! I thought it might have gone in my finger cause it hurt so bad~ once it happened I came in a rinsed it with peroxide and wrapped it in a paper . called Brad and told him i might be going to the ER.
went back out to my sewing table and that is when I saw the needle was broken! called the Dr office to get the ok to go to the ER.
got there went to x-ray the guy did not check me in so i was forgotten I was fine they had given me a perkiest not sure if i spelled it right sure its wrong. well no bit of needle is in my finger and my finger is just fine all but the 2 holes in the nail and finger! i do have a pic. of it and a pic of my x-ray i like that cause my ring looks like its floating! but all in all I am good!
I do need to finish the quilting but not sure if i want to do it tonight . do need to change the needle. but all I want to do right now is go to bed!

What a good name for this one with the past few days it has been to say the least cross. SO maney things going on in my life right now not sure what way up is any more, thought things might be turning around but after tonight not so sure! I guess all I can do is pray and put it in the Gods hands! but before things got to crazy tonight went to the Cross Roads class at Bella Quitl's had a good time got two of the 24-25 squares done!

Emily"s Block was the first to get done! Leslie is all cut out just need her to sew the strips together! the first month we got 6 fabric's the girls got to choose the fabrics they wanted for the block . once Leslie gets her finished I will post it also! here is some of the fabric I choose for the Crossroads Quilt for Brad I hope that he will like it.Nov. 2 I go in for that class, it should be lots of fun!

there are 8 fabrics right now I need to cut them in to 2' strips before class, and I need 24 different fabrics.

The Block of the month for Bella's starting next month is called sisters, at first I was just going to do the one , they just had one done when i first saw it, the country one(on right). then on Saturday they had the other one done and fell in love with it. so I thought its called sisters and scents i have two girls who love to help with quilting, and they both have been asking for a new quilt! I am going to do them both.

For this block of the month there is a 12 inch block and then 2 smaller ones of the same block. and only the 12 inch block is the one to show to get the next one! and this one is only 3$ a month instead of the 10$ from this past year! I will just have to see what one the girls like and then hope that they do not like the same one!

I was sewing the other night, and I looked up and saw Emily and Sugar sleeping on the landing !

the same photo as above thougth I got the other one I took. oh well they are so cute! Bella's Row of the Month for Aug. still have 3 left to finish sewing together! but should get it finished in the morning. this months (sept) is the the last month! it goes by so fast! once I get it all put together I will post it.

Birthday's and Christmas

So I asked the girls what they would like there birthday party's to be.

Leslie said that she wanted a 'spy" birthday party. so looked up idea's online, copied them now have 22 pages to read to plan a party . My favorite one was a James Bond themed one! not quite sure if its for a almost 11 Year Old! one of the ideas was to make Id badges take a pic when they come in and at the end give it to them with the goodie bags! I know that her birthday is not tell Jan 12. but with Christmas 3 weeks before and Emily's birthday 4 days after Christmas Ineed to plan and order things now!

Emily after her Birthday last year wanted a Ladybug party! she is turning 5 this year! so we are looking at cakes and cupcakes I might be able to make the cupcakes but the cakes we saw and liked now way could I do, going to check out cake shops and see how much a cool ladybug cake would be.

I fell like I am behind in the Christmas shopping! for the last two years I have been done with most of the gift getting, it also helped that brad was deployed and came home about this time so the extra money helped alot! This year Leslie Mom is now at the same base we are at and it's her year for Christmas with Leslie so we are not too sure how it will work out, we have kinda talked about us having her Christmas eve and her Mom having her Christmas day, but not real sure what's going on yet! I would like to know before the end of OCT. but I am sure that is not going to be everyone plan.

well I did it again , went in to Bella's to pick up the new row of the month and there is only one month to go before it is finished!

they showed the new bock of the month its called sisters. loved it, so singed up for it. this one starts in Oct. Next time I go in to Bella's I will take a pic and post it.

then I asked about one of the other Quilt classes that they had Crossroads. its one I wanted to do but it was on our Anniversary so did not do it. they had two more class dates set up for it and so i put my name down for it also. this one is in Nov. and only a 3 or 4 hour class.

Nook or Kindle and bike baskets

while at Barnes and Noble the other night. I was looking at the Nook ! kinda liked it. now that i am thinking of getting one what one is better? the kindle or the Nook. I like the idea of having some thing so light to have with me at all times and being able to finish a book and start a new one right away!
well it is a idea of what i would like for Christmas. I have heard that there might be some newer ones coming out later this year or next month so waiting for Christmas would be a good thing.

the other thing I would like is a Basket for my bike! one like in Murder She Wrote! I think it would be great! so when I do get motivate i could ride my bike to the commissary and pick some some thing I might have forgotten. or when the girls and I go for a ride we could stop at the park and i could have a book with me, or the Nook if i get one by then. I am sure that brad and the girls would think i am a dork for wanting a basket but I do!

well I am up way to late and I am sure that I am rambling now. so night all. and I should put up a new quilt block later on picked up the new one from the Quilters market and finished it Saturday shortly after getting home. then this sat. will be going to Bella's Quilts and getting the new row!

Cast of Stars from Quilters market here we have Kathryn Hepburn and Jimmy Stewart, I really like how the Kathryn Hepburn turned out! he Jimmy Stewart I like but I think might do it a bit different on the "real one".

This one is Cary Grant the one on the right is the first one I did then while looking at it I thought I would change the center block to the one on the left,I like the look of it, but would like to know what you think !

in this block of the month we are giving 2 fabrics that we have o use! so thought I would make one out of scrap fabric first before I cut into the real one!

And last of all this is the block of the month from Bells Quilts this one is Double Dutch.

Air Show 2010

We went to the Air Show today! we had a good time.

this week end I am watching some friends kids while they are working the Air Show, today I only had 1 extra little one with me so today was the day for the show. 3 kids to watch is better the the 6 I will have tomorrow!

Emily really wanted to go up in the helicopter! I would have liked to spend more time there today! but the two little ones were ready to get home, so home we went. watched 2 movies The Princess and the Frog, Emily and I both fell asleep watching that one. and then Planet 51 that was a cute movie, and sometime in that movie the other little one went to sleep!

its about 7pm and waiting for Brad and our friend to make it home! they should be here in about 45 mins. then up at 430 to get the extra kids, I am so tired, the back of my legs are sunburned ! I got the girls well Emily has a spot on her back by her neck that's a little pink. but she will TAN !!! unlike her mom.

now what to do tomorrow with the kids thinking about making rice krispy treats!

Not sure what is wrong with the camera, but at least I was able to get a few pics of the girls!

as you can see that Leslie and Emily are in the same set, and one turned out so different then the other! I like them both so that is a good thing.

It is called the Crawford we just got the love seat and sofa! I would love to get the chair and Ottoman that goes with it! brad said he did not think it would go in the room I think it would ! or even in the in other room with my china! The green Quilt is the one I got for my Birthday in 2009. it will have a lime green binding, need to go back to the quilt shop and get a backing!

This is this year's block of the month, so far there are 4 months down, will pick up month 5 next week! this years was a bit different we could ether do 1 block or do a row of 6 to make a Queen size quilt. I am doing the rows so there will be more to come on this quilt.

have another quilt that needs to be put together all the parts are done, well the hand applique still needs to be done! maybe I will have it done by the end of this year!

this is a Block of the month that one of my friends did and I loved it, so I went to the quilt shop where she got it at and they had all the blocks on sale! so I got them! need to decide what type of fabric I would like for the backing and I am thinking of getting the black batting for it also.

this one I got the pattern form a Fons and Porter magazine, its been sitting in a basket for about a year and a half well maybe two years! the cowboy fabric is some left over from the Quilt I made for Andrew when he was born, the backing is going to be some cowboy flannel that I had.

For Christmas my Mother in law got me a Slanket ! loved it after making fun of them for years!

So a few weeks ago I brought it to project day at church. and the lades and I looked at it and figured it would be so easy to make!
so the other day Emily and I went to Joann's to use the gift card Mom gave me for Christmas. and yesterday made Emily her own, right now she had it on like a robe! and it works. have Leslie's ready to sew, I posted Emily's on face book and one of my Friends asked how I made it.

We went to the pumpkin tent once more for he pumpkins, next year we might make it out to the pumpkin patch! as long as Brad is not working the weekends, but we had fun . once we got home and had dinner we watched the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown . tomorrow night Brad will be carving the girls pumpkins.

Our new dog Sugar Diamond! Sugar for short. she is about 5 months old. they found her with a bunch of other dogs that needed to be rescued, she is a little shy her foster mom said that when she first got her (she called her Gizmo) she would hide behind things and about a week later she would sit by the foster mom. she can not walk on a leash, but will work on it.

like brad's socks and P.T shorts behind Sugar. I think that in this pic she looks a lot like Shelby our old Queensland Healer. they believe that she is part Australian cattle dog/Pointer.

they are so so good! brad gave them to me when he got home for his deployment, and I only have 2 left (so sad!) posted this on face book asked for any one who is over seas right now to see if they can find them and maybe send me a box or 2~ we found online a Carmel one now that one sounds so good on the back of the box it looks like lime one also! oh the one he gave me in case you did not see is raspberry! LOVE IT! its a white chocolate chocolate hard shell then a cream raspberry filling! would take a pic of the filling but the camera batteries died!

so if any one See's this morsel of goodness try it! and if you dont like it send it my way!

Dog Problems.... Depeche Mode..and Brad is home

So Brad made it home on Saturday of last week, so he has been home for a week and one day! the girls are so so happy that he is home and I am more then happy that he is home. I have been able to sleep in what and he has gotten Leslie up and ready for school.
about two days after Brad came home I was putting the girls to bed, reading to Emily gave her a kiss good night then came on down to sew... when I heard a whimper went up and saw Pebbles on the floor of Emily's bed room Em said that she pushed pebbles and pebbles fell off the bed! the dog was sitting there kinda funny , so off to the vet's after x-rays, she the dog has Degenerative disk disease, + some tumors and bad teeth! just a bout $400.00 later, the dog is now walking and when the owner gets home in about a week she is going to put pebbles down. its sad she is a good dog.

Tonight is the Depeche Mode concert! and I am so so so excited about it. and also excited that Brad is home so he can go with me. I think that we are going to try to meet up with a friend of ours well of Brads Mom and Dad, Monica is her name and she and her husband are from Poland.

Brad being home is so so nice he has about 2 weeks off, then will use about a month of leave.

well at project day yesterday, (well for the last 3 weeks or so) metal chips were falling on the top of the fabric when i sewed! so I finely took it in. I have and would like to do so much sewing but I guess I cant now so what will I do?
don't know maybe hang up pitchers in the house or bring in books,sheets and all else that need to be brought in from the garage. well its to hot but maybe!
cut out more things to sew when i get my sewing machine back< class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_7">likely oh an while at project day some of the Lady's bring in fabric and other things that are no needed at their houses, so I picked up a bunch of baby flannel! so excited. going to make some bibs and baby blankets! well off to do all the other things around the house now! have a good day.

for some reason I am not able to upload Photos I have to do it in video form! sorry, I am hoping that when brad gets home, or when I get my laptop what ever come first! i will be able to do pic again.

the first 3 are of Emily at her swimming lessons, then the rest of are the quits that are just waiting for the binding and 2 for quilting and binding. sorry about quality of the photos it was too bright for pic taking. so we kinda went in to the shade of the yard. then just moved in to the house. so the red white and blue one is a picnic quilt.so is the one next to it. the yellow/orange color is called school bus yellow! and that was done in the 40 prints and the backing i used for it did not get a pic of it was from Grandma Thatchers stash. the Sunflower one is what I picked out about 2 years ago now for my birthday from brad. the quilt shop that i got that at douse a % off for how old you are turning so this year I will be getting 35% off! then the last is a king size and Brad and the girls went to Joann's and got that for me. (or was that before I had Emily or right after i had her, well its been a long time!) it was done shortly after I got it but just took my time finding a backing and then I quilted it myself . once i get more done i will put them up also.

the month of June

This summer is going by so fast! In about 2 and a half weeks Leslie will be home! Actually, only for a bit, she will be here with her mom until the 13 then she and her mom will fly to Oregon to see Leslie great grandma and will be home on the 23. For good!

Emily has been taking swimming lessons at a pool off-base. It is nice, but being an outdoor pool, Em does not like the cold water at all ! The great thing is, there are only 2 other kids in the class with Em. The class has finished the level one and I am hopeing that they can start the level 2 on Friday. They have 4 classes left. Then on the 22nd, the second session of swimming starts so she will do that also!

As for me, I have finished 2 picnic quilts, 1 doll quilt, 3 pillows for the dolls (I'm going to make pillow cases for them), another grocery bag(using a different pattern, I have another pattern to try out too), 2 church bags, and going to start on a table runner, oh and I have about 3 baby quilts that have been started, 2 more full size quilts that have been cut and waiting to be done, oh there is another quilt that i have started a while ago that is almost done just need to do the hand applique and then putting all the squares together! oh and I have two quilts that need to be binded before Brad gets home. ( he thinks that they are done ... unless he reads this, then he'll know that they're not!)

I have also been reading about 3 to 4 books at a time, and I think that I will start reading Harry Potter book 6 again before the movie comes out in July! I would also like to get all the Twilight books. I left the first one at Mom and Dads last Nov. when we were there. I am not sure where the second one went too and the 3 and 4 books I borrowed them from a friend.

Then tomorrow after swimming we have our ward dinner. On Saturday I won tickets to a comedy club. Next Thursday we're having the sister missionary's over for dinner, then Friday I am having a pampered chef party! Saturday the 20 Em and I are going to Breakers water park with the other Deployed family's. that should be lots of fun! Busy, Busy!

On news of the house, it's coming along, its just about done. The place where the cars should go is just about finished. I have two boxes left. I would love to just toss all the little thing on the ground that I am not sure what to do with, but I still need to make sure I don't need anything.

Brad is doing well, he is so ready to come home, and the girls want there dad home too. He should be home in the middle of August. I am hopping that he gets in before the 23 because I am going to Depeche Mode on the 23! and I would like brad to come with me!

so afternoon or right before 5pm going to pick up the new house key. once I get the key we have 10 days to get everything out of this house, and to clean the stove, dishwasher and frig.
On Monday the movers are coming to pack up our things, and on Tues. they will be dropping them off at the new house, also on Tues. cox will be coming between 10-12 to put in the phone and Internet! this Thurs. tomorrow DTV. will be coming to set up the satellite, I was telling this to Brad last night and he so dose not think I will be able to live with out all my TV shows. and I told him that the girls and I will just watch movies, but come to think about it I will be so busy cleaning the grill out picking up the back yard (free of doggie poo) and all of the other wonderful things that come with moving. and the DVR that is on the Tv will record all my shows, so I can live with out it!
oh and I found the bed that I would like to get Emily, that and a table set for the Kitchen, I think what i have right now will be way too big for where it is going, and a couch set that I love also. but for right now just the Bed for Emily I am getting.

This morning I got the along waited phone call from the housing office, "I have some good news for you" yeah (hoping that we would have been lucky enough to get a 4 bedroom) no just a 3 bedroom. and that is good for me, now tomorrow afternoon will be heading in for a meeting about the "move" and then waiting for the orders for TMO to come pack up all of our stuff and move it!
Now I really need to go and throw away things that I or we do not need or what I think we need but don't.
Emily and I have driven by the house, it will be so nice to get into something bigger!

After the girls and I get a delivery from some where or something,(Brad has sent us something that we do not know what it is yet!) we will be taking off heading to Alamogordo, NM. we have friends who just well last summer moved back to the base there, Anna's Husband is deployed again so we are going to spend Easter with her and her son.
Our plans for today wait , then drive for 5 hours, sleep and not sure what we are going to do Fri, maybe take the girls to the Small Zoo in Alamo,( it had a monkey, a wolf, and some birds i think) then go to a park that has some cool wooden play things, like the one in Lincoln City at the cost, but a lot bigger!
then on Saturday we are going to head up to White Sands National Park(they filmed part of transformers there) then Sunday Easter Bunny, and on Monday drive home.
As for the waiting part not as fun as i would like , I did get my car cleaned out and the car seat washed and taken apart! just waiting for it to go in the dryer now. finished one baby quilt almost done with another, Leslie is picking up, and Em is helping some what!
I need to go pack I have not done that yet! clothes are in the dryer now.

On the 24 of Feb, I took the girls to Disneyland Mom and Dad came down and went with us.We got in Tues. afternoon (thank you Tom Tom) Dad was not felling to good he had a bad cough and was running a temp, So Mom and I took the girls to Medieval Times that was so much fun I found a coupon for buy one get one free and they said that if Emily was not going to eat( she is not a big eater at all) they would consider her a lap child, so we only paid for one adult and one child. not bad at all. WE were cheering for the Yellow Knight! and when he won and got carnations from the Princess he gave one to Leslie, Emily had her hands out for one also Mom was holding Emily and the Yellow Knight told them that he had something special in mind for Emily and to just hold on. Well two more flowers later, (and smiling and laughing at Em, tell her to hold on) Emily got the Yellow sash from the knight it said the "Queen of Love" (that was the "BIG" prize of the night) and of course a 3 year old douse not know that. Long stories short she fell a sleep shortly after. the girls had a good night and I am glad.

So Dad said that he was felling better in the morning so we went in to Disneyland and got dad a wheel chair (I would recommend everyone going with someone who needs a wheel chair get to go to the front of the line!) well we did the rides in Fantasy land all but 3 and it was fun! and the Buzz Lightyear ride, after that we got lunch dad was cold so I went and got him a Disney Blanket! and we my girls and I went on the Pirates of the Caribbean( my personal favorite) Emily loved it! she had a tight hold of my shirt going down at first. after that we went to check on dad and mom they said that they would stay where they were at in the sun, so the girls and I went on to TOONTOWN! and to Leslie Favorite Ride the Gadget's Go Coaster Emily was tall enough so she went also and she liked it but then again a even tighter hold on me. while in line for the Dumbo ride I saw that I had 4 new voice messages (mom had called to say that dad was running a temp again and she was taking him to the first aid room, ) SO when I did call her back they were Riding in a Ambulance(NOT A DISNEYLAND RIDE) Dad ended up with pneumonia and stayed in the Hospital for 3days! (not what I had in mind for our trip)end day 1.

The next morning we had Breakfast with the Princess mom came with us (it was so nice having her with us, I am even in some photos for once) she did a few rides with us then went to see dad. we were in California Adventure for day 2 and had so much fun.

Day3, we did both parks so that we could do rides over again, and while in line for the big thunder railroad we saw a sing(Leslie and I) that said "Filming in Progress" so I asked what was going on they were filming something for a Internet pilot and so some time you might see the girls online! they asked them questions like who is your Favorite Disney Character Leslie "Hannah Montana" Emily"Snow White" (she was in her Snow White Dress). after doing more rides mom told me that the Hospital called and that we could pick up dad! so we were done any ways Emily on the other hand was not done and was crying the whole time saying "I want Disney" (when Brad comes home we will have to go again) that was Friday night and Saturday morning we Drove home. and it is nice to be home.sleeping in your own bed well the couch for me.but still nice. Emily now has the cough that dad (grandpa) has and yes she now has pneumonia!

Well last week Brad was done with his training, and has been in Denver since the 14th. So this past Thurs I got on a plane and headed to Denver so that I could see brad before he flys off to Qatar. we have had a great time just the two of us(well 4 if you count the guys with Brad).
Last night we went in to town and walked around the 16th street mall most of the stores were closed but we had fun just looking around, today we went to see a movie "taken" it was very good. and then in the morning at 6am we both will head to the airport, me back to the girls and brad off to the next part of his trip.

Emily wanted to have a dress on last night so Leslie got her one! this is one that I wore I think back in the 70! and it fits Emily! thank you Mom for sending me some of my old dresses I have looked and do not have a photo of me in the same dress! when I head to Oregon this summer I will go and look throw moms photos to see if she has one.

Emily's 1st hair cut

Monday morning after getting Leslie off to school I was brushing Emily's hair and she has a little bit of gum in her hair in the back and at the bottom.
I could have cut it out my self, but asked Emily if she would like to get her hair cut and she said YES ! so we went and got it cut just a inch and a half.
The night before Emily did have a bath and her hair was washed and brushed. this is what her hair looks like in the morning unless I put it in ponies the night before. Emily was very good she sat there and let the guy cut her hair and had a big smile the whole time. for being good we went to the bx and got her a new watercolor book, she loves to paint.

The other day I was on the computer Emily was using her sisters Hannah Montana black color wonder paper, after a while she got so quite so I got up to see what she was doing, she had some how gotten it all wet! there was a blue mess all over the floor and up her arms and down her legs! She looked like smurfette.

Sunday is the day of the big Football game GO AZ Cardinals ! and also the day that Brad will be leaving us for about 8 months! I know its 8 months and we have done it far too many times before but, this year Emily will know that dad is gone and not just working long long hours! He and his team will be heading to WY. (of all places to do the desert training) going from one slightly warm place to a colder then cold to the heat that we in AZ would not even like. 120 or hotter it just too too hot. Once his two and a half weeks of training are done, and waiting for 5 days in WY, they will be on there way to Qatar, he will be at a Army R&R so its not bad. Once I get Brads address and If any one would like to send him a note I am sure that he would like it.

Turning in the first order

Last night at Girl Scouts Leslie turned in her first order form! and she did bet her goal of 200 boxes leslie got 204 thank you to all who ordered from her, and all of you who would still like to there is still time. I will be picking up our boxes on the 15 of Feb, and will mail them out to you all the next day. then I believe that the cookies booths will start on the 19th oh what fun, brad has well for the last two years has gotten out of helping due to not being in the Country!

He will be leaving on the 1st of Feb now. and we will see him again in mid Sept. in the time he will be gone we should be moving in to the new base housing so that is one good thing and from what they say TMO will be packing us up and moving us. that will be nice the girls have been going sorting their rooms (we will be having a yard sale at a friends house off base) so right now the hallway to the door is blocked off due to toys and a lot of unneeded things!

Well its that time again for Leslie to sell Girl Scout Cookies (I am leaping with joy!) This will be her last year doing it (I hope) . if anyone Friends or Family that I have not called would like to get a box or two let me know or you can donate a box or two for the troops! this is something that our base girl scouts do , they collect boxes for the men and women serving over seas. Leslie has set her goal for selling 200 boxes!

Mt Lemmon 09

This weekend we went up to Mt. Lemmon. We tried to stop off at the same places that we did last year. The girls had a lot of fun. Out of the two disks that we had last year only one came with us. So we spent about an hour running around town to find some more. We ended up at a resale sports store and got the last two. ( from what brad said there was a family hording the rest and Leslie was only able to get one from them. When they would not let her have another one the manager got the display down.)

AThe first hill the girls went down. Emily said, "That was AWESOME !" I was standing right by the guard rail next to the road.

This was a path that was just right for Emily, she went down it about 4 times. Big smiles one her face the whole time..

The girls and I, off to my left is a steep hill that Leslie wanted to go down. Brad said yes and walked her up to the middle of it. I was down at the bottom with Emily. OK in the picture the girls and I are sanding on a bridge with a small creek and right behind us is a small tree. Emily was standing by the tree and I was getting ready to stop Leslie. She hit me. I went flying and landed on my face. Leslie curved around the tree and stoped. I got up and was dizzy and went over to where she was and noticed that her right arm was at a strange angle and she was not moving. Brad made it down and scooped her up and started up towards the car. There I am with Emily and the three disks trying to follow. Emily was crying because her sister was hurt, long story short, we made it to the truck and 45 minutes later ended up at the ER.

Leslie is fine. She has a buckle fracture on her shoulder joint. She is wearing a sling and is doing great. I am taking her to the Base Dr. today for a follow up.

On a side note, it was raining all day yesterday and brad asked her if we should head up to the Mt. again and she said, "No! not until my arm is better!" We will go up again but I am sure it will not be until next winter.

Craft fair posabiltys ?

Last night Brad went up to his Parents then off to get Leslie.(yeah) I was fighting off a headache and made all of this. the gift bags that I made for Leslie's Birthday, she is going to have friends over for movies and pizza. we were going to have a sleep over, (I changed my mind) the girls will stay tell about 9pm then head home.

a new bag for Emily I am going to get some primary prints and make another one for church and I will also make one for Leslie I will make hers a little bit lager.( any one who would like one let me know and I will sell you one.)

We had our Christmas with the girls early this year,

it was fun letting them open their gifts early but it just did not seem like Christmas, next year we will have leslie at Christmas so it will be all right .

the girls in matching P.J'S and Our Tree after Santa came, the girls each got a new scooter , helmets and then A.G Dolls and santa made them each a blanket for the dolls. Emily also got a mermaid waterslide for the tub that she loves!

Well now I belive I am caught up in all the photos (i hope) next will be Emilys Birthday! today is her birthday just have not put the photos on the laptop or the computer yet! I am using the laptop now and it is so nice things work !! hope you all had a great Christmas and Have a Great New Year!

for some reason every time I click on the photo icon I get a error on page! not sure why! there
are some times it just comes up, and others well not so lucky! I will keep trying and I might get Lucky.

Well on a good note we have the internet all the time now!! My visitng teaching companion well her husband works for "Com" on base (with the phone and other things) he came over and took a look and we found out that the problem is with the house! so we have the phone cord running up the hallway, into the girls bathroom and out the window! and its run right into the house !

It is now a week tell Emily 3rd Birthday! and today she was in our room and saw her B-Day gifts and wanted to open them right then and there!

Leslie this morning left to go with her Mom to OKlahoma for Christmas Break. Emily took a liking to Cyndy. Emily was so sad to see both her sister and "sissy mommy" leave this morning. Brad will be going to get Leslie on the first Jan. We will be so glad to have her home. About 5 mins after they left, Emily had finally calmed down, I said to Brad that its too quiet in the house. We had Christmas with the girls before Leslie left and then Santa will come on Christmas eve. It was nice doing Christmas early but it was not like having it on the 25th at least its only every other year that leslie is not with us for the Big Day! We will miss her and her happy smily face , 12 days tell she comes home.

Well we are in Oregon, Just had a wonderful "Christmas Dinner" with the Stanley family! It was great seeing Moms side of the family. Yesterday we were up In Wash. with Camea and her extended family! For Evelyn's Birthday and the Blessing of Stella. it was so great to see her and her family. this morning we went to see the Space needle and it was all cloudy but fun we will have to try agein later, while up in the needle Santa was there and the girls made trees and got candy canes. when we get home I will get the photos up.

Well the girls and I are going to be flying in to Portland on the 24th (so happy!) Brad has to work and I have not been home for a Thanksgiving I think the last one I went to was back in 2002. so It will be great to be home see family see the snow on Mt. Hood, Sisters. take the girls to the Portland Zoo again see the Zoo lights, go to the new children's museum where the old OMSI was , and take the girls to OMSI. then while we are up in Wash. State go to the Space Needle and maybe walk down to Pikes Place Market if we have time.
Camea and her family will be up at Claytons family so we are driving up to see them. Evelyn's birthday and see Stella for the first time! SO SO HAPPY ABOUT THAT! the only niece's or Jared's boys have seen right after beaning born was Andrew and he will be 9 next year. so it will be great.
then on the 2nd of DEC. we will board a plane at 6am for Oakland then to Phoenix around 11am so that is not that bad, then we will drive home and get Leslie ready for School the next day,

Oh got a call from Anna yesterday all the way form Scotland, it was nice hearing from her , she was felling a bit home sick, and she was calling to let me know about the New J.K. Rowling's book coming out DEC 4th and I guess Jared said that there is a leather one or one other one and how much it will weight . I am having my Brother buy me the book .

I would like to put up photos of the girls at Halloween but our internet has not beed working right now! so right now the girls and I are at the BX using the wifi so nice but wish the girls were not with me Ice Cream to keep them good while I check Email and pay bills online. oh well Just about finished . Yummy Relish for chips

3 Large Avocados 1 Large purple onion
3 Tomatoes cilantro
1 16oz can black beans and whole kernel corn
1 cup (I like 1/2 cup) ltalian dressing , lime

drain and rinse black beans, drain corn, chop onions, tomatoes and avocados.
combine in bowl and add dressing and chopped cilantro to taste.

On Tuesdays a group of us from church have a play day for the kids, once a month we do more then go to the park! and today was the zoo! Emily loves the zoo At the Tiger pin then to the Elephants

here is a Turtle (the large one) is over 50 years old and not sure if you can see the hand under it , well they were trying to get the egg out of it! while we were watching the egg had not droped yet.

On Sunday around 3:30 while filling the water jugs at the Old Shoppett , I was stepping off the curb when my left foot stepped in a (what felt like a huge pothole) small dip in the pavement and I rolled my ankle and fell flat on my face!

Brad and Emily were in the car. Leslie was helping me with the water. The two water jugs that I was caring went flying across the pavement. I have scrapes on both palms of my hands ( the left is worse the the right) Lucky I had on jeans so that saved my knees. My right one has three small bruises on it from the (I believe) three small rocks I fell on, and then my left ankle is HUGE and swollen with bruising on the inside and out side of my ankle,

On the way home from hurting myself Brad asked if I wanted to go to the ER and I said no, that if in the morning I was still in pain and could not walk on it then I will go, (and the last Yankees Home game was on). So that night I iced my ankle and went to bed after the game,
around 2 in the morning I had to get up beause my ankle was throbbing and I needed to use the bathroom. I kind of hopped to the bathroom, and was in so much pain that I crawled back to the bed. By this point I was in so much pain that I was making too much noise and woke up Brad with my whimpering. He got me another icepack and some codeine and said that I slept great after that!

In the morning I called the base Dr. and since I have no Dr. on base they sent me to the ER. We dropped off Emily at a friends house. I got to ride in a wheel chair! and had X-Rays done , when I saw the Dr, she said it was just a bad sprain and they put on a splint and gave me crutches. I am now able to walk on my foot I think a good part is due to the splint. Last night we took it off so I could shower and that is when I saw all the bruising on my ankle that was not there when we went to the ER.! I should be off my foot, like not walking at all, for the next two days but with an almost 3 year old and Brad working all day and Leslie at school that is not going to happen .

Before all this happened we had a wonderful day spending it with our Family ! we took the girls to get the Hannah Montana Build a bear! and got Leslie's Halloween outfit!

BUG EYE'S

This past weekend we went up to Bards parents, and the girls found the play glasses! Emily and Leslie had so much fun playing with them! Just the faces the girls have are so funny!

Pink Eye

Leslie goes to school this morning rode the bus ! it has started up again!! yeah! the only down side is getting up at 6:25 instead of 7:00 oh well .
so about 9:15 the school calls to say that Leslie has pink eye! ( in all the years she was at the CDC and the past few years of school she has never had it just about 9 years!) so as I am driving to the school calling the appt line (cant drive and talk on the phone at the same time) to them saying there are no appt today and they will see if the DR. will call in the eye drops! She did! school says that she needs to be home for 24 hours after getting the first drop in her eye so that would mean that she would be back at school about 1ish oh but school gets over at 1:15 on Weds! so two days off for Leslie! she is so happy about it, sleeping in (she likes that the most), after school was over we went back and pick up home work and the class work for today and tomorrow!

Emily was happy to have sister home from school! on Tus. she has a play group with some kids from church, so we went to that, left Leslie home with Dad, when it was time to go home Emily go so upset! she loves to play with her friends. and when we got home and had lunch I was able to get the eye drops for Leslie with out the girls so nice! I did get a few text messages from Brad! well video's from him hit the play button and the noise that came form it made me jump! Emily can hit the HI notes!

Guerry Cousins

Cousins when I grew up I had tonz of cousins around in Oregon from both sides of the family to pay with and we would go out of state to see the others mostly in Utah to see them, and spend most of the summer I could name all the Thatcher cousins have to do it by family it get them all in and I once spent on Stake Conference writing them all down I think scents that Conference there might have been 2 or 4 more added to our large family what might you ask your self and I bringing it up, well the girls and I went up to Chandler tonight or yesterday ?(as i have not fallen asleep yet and its well after midnight is it still day or the next day??) oh well, the girls have cousins two that live up in Masa and three in TX, and then on my side 1 1/2 in Idaho and two in Salem for them next few weeks. am and do I have a point not sure yet, sorry for all who read this just rambling on and on, should head to bed and sleep school starts early well at 8 .
well we had all the Guerry cousins together today! and they have a great time playing together i wish that we lived closer to every one so the girls could grow up having them around. brad knows of his cousins he could possible pick them out from a line up if they were all together and just pointed. that is one think that i love about my family is that I even know some not all but some of my 2 cousins and my mom and dads cousins i know
well i am trying to put up some photos but my blond is comming throw tonight monring so i will try tomorrow .

New School Year

Leslie made it home from her mom's house, and she has started school, we are into her 3rd day ! Emily has a hard time with big sis going to school in the morning and any time we get into the car she asks if we are getting sister. Leslie's Teacher has sent home another list of things she needs for her class so this weekend we will be doing more school shopping!

The Bus that the TUSD had last year for the kids to ride to school on is not coming this year cuts in budget so we get to drive Leslie to school and pick her up this year we have walked her to school once in the morning, its too hot in the afternoon.

Now that school has started I need to find things for Emily to do this school year! we are not going to do the Little Gym, it was fun and she loved it, Tennis Maybe? or more Gymnastics for both girls found a place and I will be checking it out in the next week I hope!
got to go Brads truck has issues with the coolant and a hose! good thing it went out while he was home he leaves for TX. on Sat for 5 weeks. so off to get the parts !

Lizards and Birds

After Emily's Bath the other night, and most nights we have a lizards who likes to sit out side the window on the screen, and Emily likes us to open the window so that she can see it better.

Emily and Brad likes to tell the "Monsters" to go away now, then hitting the door, well they came to the bathroom and Emily saw the little lizards and when brad opened the window the lizards came in he shut the window fast, Emily was laughing so hard she thought that it was so so funny! the window was all the way down when I came in to see what was so funny, we went out side for a bit to watch some fireworks being shot off at Tucson Electric Park (Sidewinders) Baseball, and then we came bake in the little guy had moved head looking up!( did not get a photo) so we told Emily that he went home to go to sleep! and Brad took him out of the window placed it out side and the next morning he was gone! we hope that he was fine last summer I closed one in the side door and did not know it tell it was all dried up!

Then yesterday while Brad was doing the yard grass was up to your sheen's a baby bird popped out of the grass and flew to the girls little table and sat there tell it started to rain.

Hope that we do not have any more run ins with any more little things!

Sesame Street

Today Sesame Street came to DM along with the USO. they are going around to different Military bases and doing a show for the kids, We got there about a hour before it started, they were handing out the glow spinners,Emily loves it! Emily and I ,,, Daddy was taking the photos today!
There was Elmo, Cookie Monster, Grover, Rosita, and I am drawing a blank on the other orange muppet. is it Zoey no I think she is pink, oh I don't know .

the first 20 Min's Emily was great toward the end she was ready to go home , there was a lot of singing and talking about how Elmo's Dad was gone also and fun things the family can do to help the kids out while there parents are serving their Country!
Brad and I had a great time with Emily tonight! I thought that it was a great show, the only thing I wish was that the kids could have been able to get close up with all the Muppets!

Thank you to Joy for sending me the photos of Emily! that my Brother is going to send to me not sure when I might get them so thank you again Joy for them I love it. Scents I was not around when they were taken I can only guess that was going on.. when I saw this one I thought of the Sound of Music the opening seen ! She could be waiting for a bus or trying to stop a cab.

Emily wanted to go to the beach she was falling around all the "Big kids" down so I let my Brother go down with his Family, (glad I did he took some great pic of my little girl)
Such a happy girl! she had so much fun playing in the sand she would get her hands all sandy then go and wash off her hands just to go and get them all sandy again, by the time we made it back to Mom and Dad's she was out cold for the night!

Our Trip to Oregon

Emily and I few in to Portland on the 3 of June, Auntie Bronwyn picked us up from the Airport! our flight was 30 min late! then we went out for dinner with Skylyn and her little one, Savannah and then Bronwyn and Emily and my Self. Gustatav's was wonderful as all ways. Emily in the morning loved playing on the stairs, She is such a funny girl.

At the Oregon Coast Aquarium we watched the seals swim around for a good 20 mins! she loved them.
Emily and Evelen they have both grown from last summer when we were all together.

Well Yesterday we took Leslie to the Airport so that she could go to her moms house! as Brad took her up Emily was screaming "I want my Sissy" this went on until she could not see her sister! it was a sad day. Leslie called twice last night when she landed and when she got to her moms house! and Emily was able to talk to big sister and she liked that! Emily is liking that she can watch what ever she wants to in sisters room! It is gooing to be a long 2 months!
